Chana Pulls Back After Frantic Surge

NCDEX Chana futures saw some profit booking today after rising nearly Rs 500 per quintal this week. The NCDEX Chana futures for December broke above Rs 4000 per quintal and raced up amid reports of a poor start to the rabi sowing. Firm cues from spot markets also helped the sentiments. The futures hit around Rs 4480 per quintal in early moves today but eased thereafter and currently trade at Rs 4401 per quintal, down 0.52% on the day. Latest data reveals that pulses were planted in 32.07 lakh hectare so far this rabi season as compared to 35.75 Lakh hectare at the same time last yeair.
